Description

DreamBirth® | Pregnancy & Birth |  Course 2  | 7 Sessions | Tuesdays | 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM ET | 28 May – 9 July 2024

DreamBirth® is a tool par excellence to address the experiences and influences that get in the way of a good pregnancy and birth.  This includes both the inner fears, worries, beliefs, and ancestral patterns  as well the external demands of partners, parents, other children, and procedures and attitudes of birthing personnel that can also impede the natural flow of events. Taught by Claudia Raiken, Master Practitioner and DreamBirth® Director,   it is an excellent tool to create the conditions for a positive birth experience.

DreamBirth® Pregnancy and Birth | Course 2 | Preparing Body, Mind and Heart for Birth

Part 1: Flexibility of Body and Mind

The main focus of the first four classes is to develop flexibility of body and mind, as both birth giving and mothering require. This segment focuses on the importance of alignment  for increased comfort and an easier birth.  Correct alignment allows more room for baby and eases baby’s descent.

We will study:

  • Exercises that expand and lengthen.
  • Exercises to turn  a breech or misaligned baby

These exercises use light, air and water images for expansion. We also focus on the connections between the jaw and pelvis, mouth and cervix.

Part 2: Preparing for birth for birthing professionals and birthing parents

The focus of the last four classes is preparing for the birth — whether at the hospital, a birth center, or for a home birth. The exercises in this segment are invaluable for both doula and birthing parents  and include exercises for both pre-birth preparation and for postpartum issues. We also introduce exercises for the birth partner and parent.

These four classes focus on exercises for making decisions, whether doula or parent! We will study:

  • Exercises to deal with contractions, hospital procedures and with problems that can arise during labor, including placenta not releasing.
  • Exercises for cesarean or other intervention, wanted or unwanted; importance of getting the body’s (and the baby’s) permission.
  • Exercises for immediately after the birth: to connect with baby, to clear the body if any medications were taken, to heal any tears or incisions, to talk to doctors and nurses,  and to encourage milk supply.

Classes will be organized around participants’ needs and interests,  as each situation presented may require different exercises than those mentioned above.

Participants will receive a  Zoom link prior to the first session.

Fee: $360
