Anchoring Personal Alignment Through The Art Of Dreaming

Can you recall a radiant moment when all seemed to perfectly align, and with difficulty mysteriously absent and synchronicity abounding, you moved effortlessly through that moment lightly and with ease?  Or perhaps an encounter where the mysterious creativity of life seemed to conspire on your behalf, bringing you all that you needed against great odds?  Let’s call these gifted moments “Grace.”

But what is “Grace”?

Grace has different meaning, definition, and application in different cultures and contexts.  In the most human sense, Grace is often considered to describe a smooth and attractive way of moving in the physical world and in social spheres.  Grace has a quality of being polite and kind, at ease in one’s skin and surroundings.  For many, Grace is an experience of the divine; in a religious context, it can also mean the unmerited divine assistance, favor or kindness given by God to humans for regeneration,  holiness, or salvation.   For others, grace is a reprieve or  pardon –  a fortuitous pass on an otherwise inevitable undoing.  It can simply signify personal charm or serve as a prayer before meals –  it can even serve as an honorific – “Your Grace.”  For all of these variations, Grace shares some common qualities of felt experience:  presence, beauty, effortlessness, flow,  tranquility and transcendence.

I experience and understand Grace to be all of these things and to be something quite different.  I have been touched by Grace in moments of great sweetness and challenge alike.  I am grateful to be continually “graced” with these spontaneously gifted moments, but over time a great transformation has taken place.  I now experience Grace as an endless field of ever-living presence, always within easy reach for all to enter into, discover and engage.  Grace implies a flow of something greater and mysterious; a great river rising up in a moment of profound creativity to defy limitations and break the boundaries of restriction. But, we do not need to wait for Grace to be bestowed upon us; Grace simply is; it exists and all we need do is acknowledge it presence, and step into its field of flow.

The experience of this flow could also be described as a moment of expansion:  light from within fills and surrounds us, magnetising to us what we need.  In this view, Grace is an experience combining the elements of flow and light, where creative potential expands exponentially.  Whilst this mystery cannot be controlled at will, particular internal positioning can create a greater flow of energy and creativity.  This positioning is our true alignment or our “blueprint.”

Catherine Shainberg captured this so simply in the Kabbalah of Light where she wrote “…you can never heal yourself through will power, but only by surrendering to inner alignment…”

In these times of great inconsistency, disruption and chaos, it can be hard to access and stand firmly in our true alignment.  But it is possible. It may even be necessary if we hope to serve the greatest good, the true calling of our souls.

There is a way to serve this aim – through dream work.  Closing our eyes to focus inwardly and dream naturally creates the inner light which gifts us the stamina and clarity needed to access the living wisdom and knowledge within.  Dreaming restores us to alignment and alignment opens us to Grace.

Following its guidance, life becomes more alive, vibrant, and exciting.  Living the fullest expression of our unique light and alignment brings a deep sense of inspired purpose, and this becomes the uplifting gift that we bring to the world, not only for ourselves, but also for others.  And perhaps as this expands into the world, we have a greater impact of goodness than we realise.  This is the Grace that we bring to the world, and it all begins with alignment.
