“Here comes the dreamer, let’s kill him!” is one of those shocking pronouncements the Bible confronts us with. Are we still trying to kill the dreamer?  Today it seems even more so, with the development of a machine (AI) running on algorithms that competes to defeat and kill our much-maligned and misunderstood subconscious mind.  Are we killing the dreamer in our lives? 

This year in Advanced Imagery, together with Catherine you will explore the story of Joseph, the great dreamer in the Bible. The story is one of sibling rivalry and hatred interspaced with a magical tinge of good luck. A vain and boastful young man, his father’s favorite, is put through untold afflictions and rises from the pits of his life to the summit of success through trusting the wisdom of dreaming. 

In our study of the Joseph story, we are going to see how giving credence to the dream and giving it space will allow the subconscious mind (starved for so long) to transform famine into abundance. Learning to balance the conscious with the subconscious brings forth forgiveness and reconciliation (which we need now more than ever) both in ourselves and in our communities.  

As we experience the story of Joseph, we’ll understand the myriad ways that God – while remaining invisible – speaks to Joseph through his dreams and intuition and sustains him through all his activities, so that everything comes to him more easily. Joseph is the everyday man – you – who can learn to wisely navigate between worlds and be informed through your dreams and intuition.

This year in Advanced Imagery, together with Catherine you will explore the story of Joseph, the great dreamer in the Bible. The story is one of sibling rivalry and hatred interspaced with a magical tinge of good luck. A vain and boastful young man, his father’s favorite, is put through untold afflictions and rises from the pits of his life to the summit of success through trusting the wisdom of dreaming. 

Why was Joseph the favorite son? What made him different from the other sons, who in their intense jealousy and spite, conspired against him and sold him into slavery (telling their father he had died from a wild animal attack!)  Joseph would eventually rise to power in Egypt and choose to forgive and save his brothers. How could he come to forgive them and trust them again to the point of forgetting their betrayal? Is this the road to peace?

Today we are killing our dreams, much like Joseph’s brothers tried to kill him. We have denigrated the subconscious, disregarded our intuition and dismissed the act of dreaming as waste the brain uses to sweep our minds clear.

The class is open to those who have either taken SOI [Beginning] Imagery or with Catherine’s approval based on previous participation with Catherine or one of SOI’s senior teachers.  To confirm if you can attend this class, send our school administrator an email at admin@theschoolofimages.org

Saphire® Imagery is central to all we teach at the School.  Based on an ancient practice, it offers an innovative way to access the portal to transformation that exists in each of us. Course Prerequisites: Advanced courses require participants to have at least one year of Imagery coursework, including DreamOpening);  a recommendation from an SOI Practitioner with whom you have studied or a prior enrollment in an SOI Advanced course.  We may ask registrants to confirm these are met before classes begin.
