The language of the Tarot is one of images, shapes, colors, letters, and numbers, which is the language of dreams and dreaming. Tarot spreads, just like dreams, when truly opened and read have the power to reach the querent’s core like a letter to the soul. It can bring effortless transformation and personal growth. We will use the four steps of Dream Opening to read Tarot cards. The four steps of Dream Opening can be seen as a treasure hunt that leads to enlightenment; they are 1. Story, 2. Pattern, 3. Question and 4. Mystery.

The Tarot is a book of images, one in which images, shapes, colors, letters, and numbers serve as the conduit to the language of dreams and dreaming. Tarot “spreads” – just like dreams – have the power to reach the querent’s core like a letter to the soul when truly opened and read properly.  It can bring effortless transformation and personal growth, especially where dreaming remains elusive.

Shara Morales will lead this workshop immersion to kick-start a deep introduction to the Tarot through Imagery work. Over three hours, we will explore the basic structure of the Tarot as a book of images whose loose pages (cards) are rearranged in every throw. We will use the four steps of Dream Opening to read Tarot cards, introducing you to a treasure hunt that leads to enlightenment.  In SOI Imagery work, out dreams reveal unique aspects of ourselves, to ourselves through our subconscious revelation of the dream’s:

1. The Story

2. The Pattern

3. The Question

4. The Secret (or Treasure)

The SOI way of approaching the Tarot is through an active dialogue with the subconscious mind, the dreaming mind. We do not use any fixed dictionary-like concepts but practice opening ourselves to our own source of wisdom and revelation. Guided imagery exercises on Tarot focus on illuminating the different paths and stumbling blocks to transformation; cards are used like practical tools, like mirrors, that can help us restore our inner well-being.

This course will prepare you to join the full semester of Tarot starting in October 2024.
