Description
DreamBirth® | Pregnancy & Birth | Course 2 | 8 Sessions | Mondays | 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM EDT | Jun 19 – Aug 7, 2023
DreamBirth® is a special and powerful tool to address myriad concerns about conception, pregnancy, birth and parenting. In this course, we explore the experience of the final trimester of pregnancy, birth, and the first days with a new baby– both as a physical experience and as an emotional one.
We will show how imagery helps us to face and pass through physical challenges (such as contractions and milk supply) as well as inner fears, worries. beliefs, ancestral patterns and demands of parents, partners and siblings that get in the way of a good pregnancy and birth.
In these eight classes, you will continue discover and apply DreamBirth® imagery exercises during pregnancy and at birth. Learn how to access your imagery, how to respond to the “necessity of an image” and the importance of practicing imagery oneself. DreamBirth® imparts gifts for all who use it – whether a prospective parent or a practitioner helping parents.
Part 1 – Flexibility of Body and Mind | 4 Sessions
The main focus of the first four sessions is to develop and maintain flexibility of body and mind, which is what birth and mothering require. DreamBirth allows us to direct the cells of our body into its most optimal, easeful functioning so that our bodies, and our baby-to-be express their perfection!
Discover the importance of alignment for comfort and easier birth. This section will include exercises that expand, lengthen, and re-orient breeches or misalignments. In these classes we also introduce exercises for the husband or partner.
Part 2 – Preparing for Birth | 4 Sessions
The focus of the last four classes is preparing for the birth, for both doula and birthing parents, and exercises for postpartum issues. We learn exercises for:
- Dealing with contractions, hospital procedures.
- Dealing with problems that can arise during labor, including placenta not releasing.
- Caesarean or any other medical intervention, wanted or not wanted; importance of getting body’s (and baby’s) permission.
- Immediately after the birth: to connect with baby, to clear the body if any medications were taken, to heal any tears or incisions, to talk to doctors and nurses, and to encourage for milk supply.
These classes focus on exercises for birthing professionals and exercises for making decisions!
Participants will receive a Zoom link prior to the first session
