Beginning Imagery (Cantonese) | The Right Use of Will meets each Monday for 21 weeks from November 7, 2022 – May 15, 2023, 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM EST (US)* | 9:30 PM – 11:00 PM (GMT + 8) Hong Kong

In this core year-long class you will learn the fundamentals of Saphire® Imagery. Our aim in this 6-year series of classes, taught by senior SOI teacher Millicent Lai, is to explore the right use of will. What is will? Is it imposing one’s own will? Having power over others? Or instead does right use of will take into account other people’s needs and desires? How can our will cohabit with other people’s wills to create a more harmonious balance of wills?

In Kabbalah, the Tree of Life diagram shows us that will – often called Justice or Severity –must be tempered by loving compassion. This requires plunging into the heart where loving compassion resides. In other words, plunging into the subconscious.

Through a series of short inductions called Saphire® Exercises, you will be taken through the four realms of existence – mineral, plant, animal, human – to explore what blocks your way and what can develop your path to the right use of will.

Using techniques from the Kabbalah of Dreaming – the Jewish mystics’ art of dreaming– you will learn to balance left and right brains and experience how the will of severity and the will of the heart can dance together to create harmony and joy.

Last semester we explored the realm of minerals, and we shall continue to explore the realms of plant, animal and human. The work enables self-discovery while clearing any blocks and obstacles along the journey. In this way, we also build strength and trust in ourselves.

You will begin or continue to learn and develop skills in the fundamentals of Saphire® Imagery. In each class, you will receive exercises written by Catherine Shainberg, Founder of the School of Images® and by your Teacher, Millicent Lai, who will guide you through them. You will be asked what you experienced and you will be given individual guidance, depending on the “necessity of the dream” revealed in your Imagery. These exercises are powerful, quick, effective and easy to do. They can be beautiful, fun, surprising, astonishing, delightful and revealing—each student’s experience is unique. You will discover the Self you never knew you had with Saphire® Imagery.

Imagery Exercises are short inductions given by the imagery guide to the dreamer. These lead the dreamer into waking images that are often as intense and visually clear as the most powerful night dreams. As the waking images unfold, they are both diagnostic and transformational. They help you to delineate and construct your own inner landscape and access your own richness, power and beauty. They guide you to bring forth the lessons you have learned within and to manifest them in your everyday life.
